What is Marketing?

Marketing is the process of communication ideas to consumers to stimulate sales of goods or services. It can be a sales pitch for a particular product or service or a message designed to create a positive image of a brand or company. Marketing is a persuation technique designed to promote goods and services aimed at building sales, brand or company recognition, and customer loyalty. Marketing takes many forms and uses all types of media but has the common goal of ultimately increasing sales.

  1. Advertising is a vital and primary tool used in marketing. Many people confuse the two (marketing & advertising). Although they share a common goal advertising is a component of a marketing strategy. However advertising alone is not marketing.
